The Greater SouthWest Development Corporation(GSDC) began a workshop series 10 years ago directed at community based small business owners. In 2012 GSDC transitioned the series from business start-up topics to content focused on technology for small businesses.

Today, GSDC produces an annual conference called Tech Thursdays Chicago for community based small businesses around Chicagoland. This two-day conference is free to all and is produced in partnership with 20 other business supporting agencies and directed by Blue Ocean Logic. Topics include marketing, sales, finance, productivity, and management.

In addition, GSDC hosts weekly classes – Tech Thursdays Weekly – to assist small business owners or their staff in the implementation of technology for their businesses. These sessions are extensions of the material covered at the annual conference but in more detail with more opportunities to assist with implementation.
